Music classes for early
childhood learners are now available through our MusikGarten program.
The Elite Academy of Music and Motion is proud to offer early childhood
music classes through the MusikGarten program. Taught by Lorraine Havens
-- a licensed and certified MusikGarten instructor -- the MusikGarten
program helps young children develop a love of music and the skills to play
it through a series of activity-filled, age-appropriate lessons.

What are MusikGarten classes like?
Classes are both participatory and interactive. That is, students do not
merely sit and listen; they sing, dance, count, clap, play simple
instruments and more. Additionally, each child participates with his or
her parent(s) in the various class activities.

Sequence of Programs
For children ages 3 months to 18 months, classes take place Thursdays
at 9:00 am. In these classes, we focus on developing the very young
child's listening skills and their sense of a musical beat, as well as
establishing a foundation for singing and musical thought.
For children ages 18 months to 3 years, classes take place Thursdays at
10:00 am. In these classes, we focus on activities that bridge the natural
connection between music and movement.
For children ages 3 to 5, classes take place Saturdays at 9:00 am. In
these classes, known as the "Cycle of the Seasons," children participate in
musical activities based on each of the seasons. Creative movement and
storytelling are added to the class activities.
About the instructor:
Lorraine Havens is a cellist and violinist, a
licensed and certified MusikGarten teacher, and a mother and grandmother
many times over. For over 40 years, she has shared her love of music as
both a performer and a teacher.
